Pulsating instabilities in the Zeldovich-Liñán model

چکیده
In this paper we numerically study the properties and stability of the travelling combustion waves in Zeldovich-Liñán model in the adiabatic limit in one-dimension. The structure and the properties of the combustion waves are found to be different for the fast and slow recombination regimes. The dependence of flame speed on the parameters of the model are studied in detail. The results are compared to the prediction of the activation energy asymptotic analysis. Stability of combustion waves is studied by using the Evans function method and direct integration of the governing partial differential equations. It is demonstrated that the combustion waves lose stability due to the supercritical Hopf bifurcation. The neutral stability boundary is found in the space of parameters. The pulsating solutions emerging as a result of Hopf bifurcation are also investigated. AMS classification scheme numbers: 35K57, 80A25

Pulsating Instabilities of Combustion Waves in a Chain-Branching Reaction Model
In this paper we investigate the properties and linear stability of travelling premixed combustion waves and the formation of pulsating combustion waves in a model with two-step chain-branching reaction mechanism. These calculations are undertaken in the adiabatic limit, in one spatial dimension and for the case of arbitrary Lewis numbers for fuel and radicals. It is shown that the Lewis number...
متن کاملA fresh look into pulsating PG1159 stars
To improve the understanding of the pulsational instabilities of some of the PG1159-type pre-white dwarfs we performed detailed stability analyses on helium star evolutionary models. With the canonical chemical compositions, pulsational instabilities were encountered for all stellar masses considered (0.57, 0.63, 0.7 M⊙). The blue boundary agrees satisfactorily with observations. The red edge, ...
متن کاملDynamic Instability of Visco-SWCNTs Conveying Pulsating Fluid Based on Sinusoidal Surface Couple Stress Theory
In this study, a realistic model for dynamic instability of embedded single-walled nanotubes (SWCNTs) conveying pulsating fluid is presented considering the viscoelastic property of the nanotubes using Kelvin–Voigt model. SWCNTs are placed in longitudinal magnetic fields and modeled by sinusoidal shear deformation beam theory (SSDBT) as well as modified couple stress theory. The effect of slip ...
متن کاملStability of planar flames as gasdynamic discontinuities
The stability of a steadily propagating planar premixed flame has been the subject of numerous studies since Darrieus and Landau showed that in their model flames are unstable to perturbations of any wavelength. Moreover, the instability was shown to persist even for very small wavelengths, i.e. there was no high-wavenumber cutoff of the instability. In addition to the Darrieus–Landau instabili...
متن کاملa Simple Speed Control Technique and Pulsating Torque Elimination Method in a Brushless Dc Motor
This paper presents a theoretical derivation and computer simulation of an optimal speed controller for a brushless dc motor using feedback from a linear model running in parallel with the inverter-fed model. The intent of the feedback from the linear model is to eliminate torque ripples from the inverter drive. A nonlinear model of such a motor, transformed into a linear model by a local diphe...
